Who's behind it
Built in Kirkham by Mensia, for restaurants across the UK.
Eightish is made by a small web company in Kirkham, Lancashire, for restaurants, pubs and cafés anywhere in the UK. It was proved on Friday nights on the Fylde coast first. There's no sales team. The person who built it is the person who sets your venue up, and the one who picks up when you ring.
Named for the time everyone actually wants: a table for two, at eightish.
Before you ask
The questions restaurants actually ask.
Can you move my existing bookings over?
Yes. On the setup call we move your diary across, paper or otherwise, so the first night on Eightish already has tonight's book in it.
What about regulars who'd rather ring?
They still can. You add a phone booking in two taps and it gets the same confirmation text and the same reminder as an online one. Over time most of them use the link, because it's quicker than waiting for you to pick up.
Do I need new hardware?
No. Eightish runs in the browser on the tablet or phone you already have at the door. There's nothing to install for you, and nothing for guests to download.
What does "free" actually mean?
Walk-In is free forever for up to 50 online bookings a month, with the booking page, the host stand and text confirmations. A card is taken at signup as a £0 check. If you go past 50 in a month, online bookings are 40p each and never more than £69, collected in £10 blocks as it builds, and you can see exactly where you are. Every detail is on the pricing page.
